Magenta

So ages ago I was thinking of ideas for a name. I wanted something pretty and unusual. So the words Magenta and Snowflake eventually became the name for myself.
Therefore magenta became the basis for the deisign of my website and blog.

My Dad

A lot of help with both my site and blog design came from my Dad. Please feel free to e-mail me (via my website) (www.magentasnowflake.com) or leave any comments with which I can pass onto my Dad. I know he would love to know if any of his hard work is appreciated.

Fluid design

I found the original fixed width css a little restrictive hence changed to percent widths.

Played around with the logo image, tried to use two small images only to find IE did not render it as intended. Decided just to increase the width of the original image and take a size hit.

Well both web site and blog are looking good, almost ready to publish.

Custom Theme

Created a custom theme to match the new site. Theme based on Blue Silence CSS, main changes added a logo and modified colour scheme.

Minor problem! Where and how to upload files.

Used media manager to upload files, custom_style.css placed into root (the default you see) referred to as the top-level folder (server internally named folder /public). Created a new folder (within root) named img for the css images.

Note 1: The custom theme page calls the css using: @import url(/public/custom_style.css)

Note 2: The css uses to following to pull in the image to the page: background-image: url(img/bg.gif);

Looks OK in IE6 and Firefox 2, needs to be fully tested.
